About UP Magazine!

UP Magazine was an idea that Mike Van Den Branden had when he was laid off from his construction job one winter.  He wanted to bring some positive energy to the local community, and those visiting the community, through stories, information, history, humor and pictures.  He wanted to show people all the amazing things life has to offer in the area he was raised and grew up in.  After 37 years, UP Magazine is still going strong and growing!

He and his wife, Robin, run the whole show.  Mike is in charge of the layout and publishing of the entire magazine while Robin is in charge of sales and advertising.  Mike says, "We work well together and none of this would be possible without us working as a team".

UP Magazine, formerly the Porcupine Press, is now in it's 37th year of printing.  2025 is going to be full of changes and Mike and Robin want to be right on top of all of that, as they have always been.
